About Me

During the Summer of 2017 I gained hands-on experience as a News Intern at WATE Channel 6 News in Knoxville, TN.

In April of 2017, I received an award in TV Specialized / Topic Reporting from the Tennessee Associated Press.

In Fall of 2015 I started my journalism career at Middle Tennessee State University. I am a double major in Multimedia Journalism and Political Science. During my time at MTSU I have served as an elected leader of Alpha Omicron Pi, worked as a Blue Elite tour guide, and I devote most of my time to the LIVE on-air broadcast, MT10 News.

I came to MTSU with 33 credit hours of dual enrollment that I earned during my last two years of high-school. I am recognized as a Senior who will graduate in the spring of 2018. This is my third year being able to gain experience with MT10 News… including producing, anchoring, writing, reporting, shooting, and editing for live news each week. These skills have been acquired from the classroom, and hands-on experience. I am a hard-worker, prepared, and I have a great attitude for team-work in everything I do. My dream is to provide content viewers will enjoy while maintaining an ethical & accurate reporting style.

I am active in both the Murfreesboro community but also in my hometown of Sevierville, TN when I visit. In Murfreesboro I attend The Experience community church and in Sevierville my home church is First Baptist. I volunteer frequently through my sorority, and through mission trips like the one I went on last summer to Clarksdale, MI.

I simply believe that the future of journalism is in the hands of those who have a passion for it.

In May of 2018 I will graduate and will be looking for a job as an MMJ.
